It Was Nice While It Lasted

It’s official, “Payment for Peace” has run its course and life, as we know it, has returned to normal. Bickering, poking and any reason to assume battle positions has resumed. Am I considering another negotiation? It has crossed my mind but for now I think I will just stare longingly at my new count down timer, anticipating the return to school and peace, without payment.

  • I’m going to remember your “incentives” later on down the road when my kids are doing the same thing as I am sure they will. I think it was a good idea.

When I was young, I refused to clean my room. Okay maybe I still don’t like to clean, but my mom.. she likes to clean. Anyway.. she tried putting quarters on my bureau on Sunday and for every day my room wasn’t clean, she’d take one away. Even at the age of 8, 9 or 10.. whatever it was, I knew that 25 cents was a bargain. ;-)

Only 10 bucks? You know how much groceries I could buy with that if I used coupons?

  • I love the quarter idea (though it would probably have to be loonies ($1) now.

Yeah, my son was happy with the $10 but the Diva in the household would’ve held out for more. Can you say Trouble with a capital T!! :(

    As always, thanks for sharing!
